Kim Kardashian & Justin Bieber Vacation

Elle Magazine has released some pictures from their September issue. It is the photo spread of Kim Kardashian and Justin Bieber enjoying themselves in the Bahamas. The photo shoot was all part of the ridiculous rumors that Kim was seeing Justin all because Kim posted on her Twitter saying, “I have Bieber fever!” It’s good to see that both Kim and Justin have a sense of humor.

Mishka Fall 2010 is here. And oh, the boys wearing it are pretty. There is denim, plaid, jerseys, and more outerwear than ever, in addition to the streetwear staple t-shirts and hats. Mishka is stepping up their cut and sew game. And this collection is proof of that. The lookbook was shot by my dear friend and former coworker Marley Kate, who did a great job making the pretty boys look even prettier. If I were a dude, I’d wear this stuff. Nice work, Mishka boys. Nice work, Marley. Nice work, streetwear.

Liao Yibai’s provocative stainless steel sculptures are larger than life. They easily loom over the average man, replicas of fake Gucci bags, Chanel purses, and iPhones glitter in all their materialistic glory, mockingly flaunting how the product has overcome the human. The exhibition is a commentary on our brand name obsessed society, how we overlook quality to fulfill our need for the latest it thing. Perhaps that’s the biggest commentary of all– we are a generation that prides ourselves for being individualistically unique, when in fact we are constantly scrambling to have what everyone else wants, thinking these material possessions will help us fit into some imagined form of “uniqueness.” Yet, as Yibai’s artwork suggests, its an era of consumerism and we are what we consume. Looking to showcase something other than the usual colorspalsh art, Dov Kelemer and Sarah Jo Marks of DKE Toys collaborated with their fellow artist friends to start The Vader Project. The result was sixty-six replicas of the infamous villain’s helmet, with each prop revamped according to the individual artist’s taste. The helmets were auctioned off at the Freeman’s Auction House in Philadelphia but fortunately here are a few fabulous photos of a few select pieces…after the jump.
